La Maison Jacques Fath is preparing to launch Musc Couture, a fifth member of the Fath Essentials<\/em> collection, which is entirely created in cooperation with the perfumer Jean-Christophe Herault<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I admire the work of creative director Rania Naim<\/strong> for Jacques Fath <\/strong>and the utterly French, neoclassical profile the restored brand has presented in the last several years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It is said that Jacques Fath could enlighten a room when he entered.”, said Jean-Christophe Herault. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musk Couture’s fruity-floral-musk profile nods to the present and the past: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening is audacious: Creative Director Rania Naim proposed an accord of dried red bananas, which are sweeter, and with raspberry-like facets, and cherries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Remember what I said: on the next Esxence, bananas will be everywhere…”, sad Mr. Herault with the smile, and even on this Esxence I noticed the tendency.<\/a>..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While leaning gorumand, the contemporary fruity opening is soon tempered with a refined interplay of musks and florals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heart is clean, mildly soapy and powdery: as a nod to the Jacques Fath tradition, Herault created a soapy accord that is based, as I believe, on transparent and difusive neroli. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I call it bright neroli<\/em>, because its clean, white-floral olfactive profile evokes lightnes of being and the warm sunny days. However Jacques Fath named the acord as “clean linen”, which also smells true and consistent with well-explored sun-dried white linen motif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The central musky accord has powdery facets, further enriched with iris concrete LMR and sensual and enveloping CO2 extracted vanilla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I kept smelling my wrist during the Esxence Day 2: when applied to skin, Musk Couture shows interesting twists and versatile character. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It kept playing, and I kept smiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
